Nicole's Wedding

Before more time gets away from me I need to post about the wedding last week!!!

Here are a few shots of the reception location before the wedding:

Aren't the centerpieces so pretty? We didn't do the flowers, but the reception location provided flowers in keeping with the color theme, and Nicole's father created the lovely wood slices.

It was the David Austin "Juliet" rose that featured in all the flowers of the day.

Here are David and Laura decked out in their wedding finery.

The giant balloons outside the reception site were a big hit with the kids!

And here is a picture of the kids with Nicole. We all LOVED her dress with the beautiful, jeweled shawl.

Since there was some waiting involved, the kids had special dispensation to play on the iPad.

Wedding party pictures on the veranda:

And a close up of one of the corsages:

And another of the bouquets:

Then we all headed to the wedding site where last minute details were taken care of.

Look at this sweet baby!!!! He is the nephew of the bride and only one week at the time of the wedding! He was adorable and very good.

The ceremony went well, despite the lack of A/C!

David and Laura had some time to rest during the ceremony.

And before we knew it, Mr. & Mrs. Campbell were walking down the aisle!

Christina and I had to get a sister picture with our matching outfits.

And here is a photo of the happy couple!!!!!

Next we all headed downtown to this beautiful, historic house for the reception.

We were directed to the Red Pine table.

How do you like the room we were seated in? Normally, it is a lunch room.

Half of the evening seemed to be taken up with trips to the bathroom for my lemonade drinkers. But, that meant I could get a picture of the teapot collection in the kitchen, and it also meant I ran into a new friend -- a delightful woman who moved to the States from Scotland 56 years ago!

The funniest part of the evening was the announcement of the bridal party by the groom's father in which he forgot to announce the bride and groom!

Then we were all served "breakfast for dinner":

My plate contained gluten free items, which was very thoughtful.

Here is a look at the back of the dress -- don't you just love the detail on that cape/shawl?

After dinner we strolled down the path to the Gate House for cake and the "Shoe Game". It couldn't have been a nicer evening. Candles lined the path and extra tables were set up under large shade trees.

Inside the Gate House there were more fancy tables set up and everyone enjoyed the cake and speeches as well as the hilarious shoe game. We all appreciated hearing from the groom at the end of the evening. It was so appropriate that he quoted an historic theologian (Bavinck) who said that the history of the human race began with a wedding (Adam and Eve) and will end with a wedding (Christ and Church).

And then the couple was sent off with sparklers.

And now they are off on their new life together and a final year of seminary in Philadelphia. We will miss them!

What a pleasant surprise! I've been reading your blog for a couple of years now (though I don't believe I've ever commented)- I am a member of Ottawa RPC, Warren's home congregation, and Rev. Rich Ganz is my pastor. I didn't get to know Warren that well while he worshiped/studied in Ottawa but am so thrilled to see a few pics of the lovely couple. What a small world. Your flowers were beautiful! I wish them all best :)

Breathtaking! It was gorgeous.

I must admit, I was looking at it as a former mother of the bride and then mother of the groom.

What a lot of WORK went into all that Beauty, hehehe. So glad the Dad forgot to announce the new couple. There has to be something the family will chuckle over for years to come. ;)

What a beautiful and happy occasion. I recognise the Juliet roses from the David Austin bouquet selection. They must have had a nice scent. And how lovely your children and you are in the photos. Happy memories.
